Why this assessment is dated

The AI Act implementation timeline has changed through the 2026 AI Omnibus. The European Commission currently states that the Act became applicable on 2 August 2026, while certain high-risk rules have extended application dates of 2 December 2027 and 2 August 2028. Article 50 transparency rules apply from 2 August 2026, with a specific transition for certain pre-existing systems.
